Biography

Kara F. Krause is committed to safeguarding the civil rights of employees across Michigan, including freedom from unlawful discrimination and harassment.

Kara graduated with honors from the University of Illinois College of Law, where she received a full-tuition scholarship. During law school, she zealously represented clients while participating in the Veterans Legal Clinic and gained invaluable experience while serving as an Edward Coles Fellow for the Illinois Human Rights Commission, a quasi-judicial agency that adjudicates civil rights complaints. She also worked as a Summer Law Clerk for the City of Chicago Department of Law's Employment Litigation Division.

Kara was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. After graduating, she went on to work for another law firm specializing in civil rights and employment law, which sparked her interest in law.

Kara began practicing law at an insurance defense law firm in Detroit, Michigan immediately after her admittance to the bar, where her work included defending civil rights cases filed against Starbucks Corporation and Marriott International.

Kara enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with her family, and taking advantage of what the city has to offer, when she is not zealously advocating for her clients.

Kara is admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and the United States District Court for the Western District
of Michigan.
